Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Ok. I took a Zantac 2 and a half hours ago and I am still getting the Burn. And I can't sleep. :/

Yoie- Congrats on the score!

DH and I scored today too. We went to the storage auction and lucked out. The unit we won looked clean but had some cheaply made stuff up front and a trash bag with baby stuff front and center. We took a little gamble hoping for more baby stuff and thankfully no one else really wanted it. We found some nice stuff in the back. There were two carseats, a high end toaster oven and a few military items. Plus just enough baby cloths that I can put together a lot or two on eBay. :D We have bought at least a dozen lockers and this is the first time it looks like we might make something off of it. Unfortunately anything we make is going straight towards the cat's dental. Poor guy has bleeding gums as of his last vet appointment and its more expensive to get his teeth cleaned than to get DS's cleaned! Stupid sedatives...

Btw, anyone here tried freecycle? DH signed us up on it and its been great! We have been able to give away extra things we don't need/want to people who really need it and we have gotten a few things we needed too! All completely free. We got a nice headboard someone who just needed to free up space last week. Nice to have a headboard again, makes the whole room look nicer. :). Our original one 'disappeared' from the moving truck a few years ago and we never replaced it.

Just got back from the doc. I had to do that diabetes test where you drink the sugar drink. Bleck. Everything is going well and I get another ultrasound in a month.

I get the joy of doing that test on the 7th. Not looking forward to it. Hopefully I pass and don't have to take the 3 hour one. I don't know if I could last 17 hours without eating. I already have to eat right before bed or I wake up starving.

I get another ultrasound at 36 weeks. The doctor said he would rather be sure of the baby's position than take a chance. I'm thinking of getting the 4D one since the hospital has the machine to do it.

I bought a stroller and car seat combo and received it at the beginning of the month. I still haven't opened the box yet. The box is still even in the car which it has been icy out so I don't want my husband to slip trying to take it out. I guess I'm still at the worrying stage that something might happen and don't want to open anything yet. I should open it soon though to make sure everything is in working order incase I need to exchange it. I don't want to go into labor and still have it in the box. Same goes with my PnP that my SIL got me.

I received my Lassig messenger diaper bag yesterday. Was pricey but I'm very happy with it. I like the material and wide strap on it. Looks like it will hold up for quite a while. It's not to huge but has a ton of compartments in it. I didn't think it had as many as it did by looking at the pictures I seen online. Can't wait to start packing it for the hospital. My husband says he doesn't plan on carrying it. He will though when the time comes. It looks more like a laptop bag than a diaper bag and is mostly black.

Is it polite to turn down someone offering to throw me a baby shower? My SIL and MIL wanted to throw me one but I said I didn't really want one. It is their first nephew and grandchild. I have most of the items already. I only need stuff like cotton balls and a nursing pump. I already got the clothes and other items I need. I'm not one to be the center of attention either.

I've been having other stuff on my mine lately. We are going to start building a house in April so we have to get everything set up for the build soon. One big worry I have is my dad isn't doing to well. He has been in the hospital 2 times this month for his heart. They have all been due to his fibulator shocking his heart. One of the times it shocked his heart had stopped. Then he has been to the regular doctor multiple times for bronchitis that has now possibly turned into pneumonia and his having a hard time breathing. I'm worrying about that since he is over 800 miles away from here and might not get to see the baby. He has one granddaughter already but didn't have any boys himself and this will be his first grandson.

I'd say turning down a shower is your right and it just needs to be handled delicately. I don't know your family but hopefully you can think of a gentle way to turn it down. Maybe just say that crowds stress you and the doc said to avoid excess stress? :/

I told my SIL that I had most of the stuff and didn't really want one. I explained about the house which she built her own and knows the stress and that I'm getting nervous about my due date approaching which I think she understands and is ok with no throwing one. I told my MIL however when I found out I was pregnant that I didn't want a shower but she has bought plastic silverware already even after I told her I didn't want one. She is the one I'm thinking that will try to throw one anyway.

Ok, we wanted to get DS used to sleeping in a big boy bed before the new baby arrives so he is used to it and doesn't think the new boy is 'stealing' his crib. Well, I was I thinking 'soon' as in next month and DH thought 'soon' meant today.

So DH brought in the bed we bought at the thrift store (cars red bed frame) and DS has spent the last three hours running into his room laying on and getting into bed. :) He LOVES his new bed and is currently lying there happily talking to himself. He is so excited he isn't falling asleep. But he isn't getting up either.

Wow I'm due in less than 3 weeks with number 2. This pregnancy has gone so fast. Between chasing a 2 year old and farm stuff have barely had time to think about it all. I still have 2 trips to make to the 2 hour away processor next week. I'm getting nervous.

That's cutting it close! That is the one month I am not planning to hatch eggs! Hats off to you. Try not to do too much. I know, easier said than done... My son is 20 months right now and will be 23 when this baby arrives.
