Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

I'm pretty sure most docs recommend waiting at least 3 months after a miscarriage to let your body get things back in order, so you're not too far outside that window yet. Be patient!

It took me 7 months to get pregnant after I went off birth control. Of course, I was on Depo for 9 years, so that probably had something to do with it.

Baby is 5 months old now and I'm currently on Depo again (LOVE IT!), but am thinking of switching to the pill when my shot "expires" at the end of this month b/c we're thinking about trying again come April and I don't want it to take quite so long this time. I do NOT want another summer baby.

I had read that in a few books too but when I brought it up to my doc he said that was silly. He said "Well you want to have a baby don't you? Then what the heck would you wait around for?!" He said go for it, so I have. Patience is not one of my virtues.... so I'm working on it!

krote - I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks pregnant and then became pregnant again the next month (so no cycle in between) for my second. I had no issues in doing this. I'm sure it all depends on how far along you were when you miscarried and such. I did not have a d&c, either -- that probably makes a difference -- not sure though. My midwife said that I shouldn't have any issue with starting right away. Best wishes to you in trying to have a little one!

The doctor's appointment this morning was okay...they are concerned with my thyroid levels...normal is something like 1.0 to 2.0 and mine was 2.32 so they took more blood. I have lost 4lbs since my last visit. They are also going to continue monitoring the blood types and my resistance to the baby because the baby will have a different blood type??? Mine is A NEG and DH is O POSITIVE? and they don't want my body to reject the baby as a "virus" or infection and give it the boot too early. So I have to get some shots later on to help my body "ignore" the baby as something bad.

Is this your first child? The Rh factor is usually only an issue after you've already had one baby. Then your body will attack the fetus if it has your DH's positive, since you are negative.
