Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

I had to change from biological washing powder to non-biological, that stopped my itching. I didn't have puppps though

Your body can change a lot during pregnancy - things that never used to bother you suddenly drive you nuts. I would recommend changing your laundry detergent to something else and see if that makes a difference. Good luck - itching is NOT fun!

I bought some oatmeal soap and used that last night--it seemed to help a little bit...the rash is gone from my legs and now just on my boobs & belly? I am thinking it might have been from one of the stretch mark creams I was using...some said that side effects can take a day or two to appear and then may linger for weeks...

I thought I'd add--what you use for stretch marks if anything? Some women I've talked to said it's inevitable and you'll get them no matter what....some say it's all genetic....still others say no stretch marks if you drink lots of water and slather on the creams...

I've now bought & tried three different types...Palmers, Burt's Bees and Aveeno. The Palmer's made me break out in itchy bumps and I don't like the smell. The Burt's smells like super strong lemon (like Pledge but worse) and left me feeling greasy. The Aveeno I haven't used yet because I'm waiting to get over the break out I had with the Palmer's first, LOL

I've been researching different kinds and I'm definitely wanting to steer towards organics more. I've been eating almost all organic, using organic shampoo, face wash, body soap and even toothpaste since I found out I was pregnant....I tried the Palmer's because that's what my mom suggested....

I like the Aveeno, and I make my own which is really nice. Truthfully, I think they help a *little* bit, but not a whole lot. Maybe you would have gotten really bad stretch marks without the creams, but you only get moderate stretch marks with it.

Yeah....so far I've never had stretch marks in my life...my mom got them really bad but she also learned she was preggy and went wild with food...she was really sick with all three of us (morning sickness) but when she did eat it was not healthy. She gained a LOT of weight with each of us (I think 60+ lbs each time). I have medium skin (darker than my mom) so I'm not sure if that's good or bad for the whole stretch mark thing...

I didn't use anything for stretch marks b/c I believe they're essentially all genetic. My mom works OB/GYN and that's her belief from experience in the office. My mom never had any and I didn't get any while I was preggo, although I had a couple show up AFTER delivery.

They still weren't bad and have mostly faded already.
