Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

So I had my pap smear done the day I went in for my first OB appointment, and some idiot nurse called me a few minutes ago with the results - Granted, all she told me was that it was "atypical - that means it not a good thing." ((duh!

)) And it's not that it was all she was allowed to tell me over the phone, it was all she knew about it! So now I have to play the waiting game for someone that knows what's going on the call me back. Talk about frustrating. I'm praying that it is nothing serious. Especially now that I'm pregnant. ugh. Talk about putting someone into a funk

It's more than likely nothing to be worried about. My OB told me that in every womans lifetime, she will probably have atleast one test come back atypical for no reason. It has happened to me and it was nothing. So I hope your outcome is the same.

One of my paps came back abnormal last year. They then tested for HPV, which was negative, so they made me repeat the pap in 3 months and all was normal. They've been normal ever since, so hopefully yours will work out the same way.

I was more worried about the fact that it has happened before. And looking online it said that being pregnant can make an abnormal pap progress into something bad even faster. BUT she called me on my way home from work and said that she was surprised to tell me that it was actually better - she said her surprise was from the fact that a pregnant woman's immune system is pretty much crap because it was working double time. But she also said that I still have to be scoped because they've gone good to bad a couple times. blah. But I'm bettter that I've spoken to her instead of the silly didn't-know-a-thing nurse.

I'd say you don't need one. I looked at them and decided they were waaaaaaaaay overpriced for something to dump poo in. My baby is 8 months old, and we still don't need one!
I do have a bucket with a lid for soaking his cloth ones (only use them part time, his dad doesn't like them but I don't understand it...)

Personally, my thought is no, you don't. I had a diaper genie with my DD, and you still had to change it every few days, at least at first. And when you did, it really stunk. I eventually started putting the diapers in individual plastic bags (tied) in a regular trash can in her room, and it actually took longer to start smelling. It was much cheaper too - I would get either a pack of bags designed for throwing away diapers, or get a pack designed for picking up dog poop - worked great!

Glad that you talked to someone who actually knew something. Its so frustrating when they call you just to say that they have to talk to you, but can't talk to you then!! Hope your scope goes well... and as others have said, its probably nothing.
