Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Well, first appointment wasn't very exciting, although the doctor and the nurses were very nice. The office I go to rotates you through all of their doctors for prenatal visits, even though you can go to just one for yearly exams.

They had me pee in a cup, nurse took 7 tubes of bloodwork, they took stats (weight, height, bp, heart rate). Then, sent me to a room where I put on my tablecloth. Doctor done a brief physical exam - breast exam, lung sounds, heart sounds, thyroid exam, and internal exam. He took some sort of cervical specimen. And that was it. Took me a hour from start to finish and I was out.

My husband went with me and I told the nurse that I would like him to be called back there when he could be back, and they never called him. Not having done this before, I didn't know they were done with me until they said, "Ok, now take this up to the front and they will set your next appointment." And I was like, "What?" Husband was not pleased. He ended up calling the nurse and talking to her and told her he didn't appreciate not being a part of the appointment since he "was the one that put it in there." Yes, his words.

But, everything seems ok and I'll get my bloodwork results in the mail in the next couple of weeks.

BUT... What really freaked me out - there was a lady in the next room having a miscarriage at 10 weeks. I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but they were talking really loud and were "excited." That really freaked me out. What are the stats on miscarriage?

at your DH.

Miscarriage stats = 1 out of every 4 pregnancies. Not to scare you, but you asked.

GreenFamily.... They did the exam on me, but not the breast exam.. The doc said they knew better than to touch a pregnant ladies Ta Ta's... Darn good thing too! They would've drawn back a nub had they dared to touch them.. Mine were so sore, I couldn't stand to even have air touch them!!

Oh, geez.

I promise not to worry myself too much. It's in God's hands.

Next appointment is April 20th. He said we may can hear the heartbeat then. Also, he mentioned that my ultrasound will be done around 18 weeks, which would be around the first week of June.

I went through the grouchy faze this time around too and just almost ended my marriage! We have been through alot in the past 12 years but it really got ugly around here lol.
