Well, first appointment wasn't very exciting, although the doctor and the nurses were very nice. The office I go to rotates you through all of their doctors for prenatal visits, even though you can go to just one for yearly exams.
They had me pee in a cup, nurse took 7 tubes of bloodwork, they took stats (weight, height, bp, heart rate). Then, sent me to a room where I put on my tablecloth. Doctor done a brief physical exam - breast exam, lung sounds, heart sounds, thyroid exam, and internal exam. He took some sort of cervical specimen. And that was it. Took me a hour from start to finish and I was out.
My husband went with me and I told the nurse that I would like him to be called back there when he could be back, and they never called him. Not having done this before, I didn't know they were done with me until they said, "Ok, now take this up to the front and they will set your next appointment." And I was like, "What?" Husband was not pleased. He ended up calling the nurse and talking to her and told her he didn't appreciate not being a part of the appointment since he "was the one that put it in there." Yes, his words.
But, everything seems ok and I'll get my bloodwork results in the mail in the next couple of weeks.
BUT... What really freaked me out - there was a lady in the next room having a miscarriage at 10 weeks. I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but they were talking really loud and were "excited." That really freaked me out. What are the stats on miscarriage?
