no, his bum is still in my ribs. however, he also has been pushing more on my cervix and I guess that he is just getting so big he barely fits in there anymore. Don't they drop when it's time? I figured I wouldn't feel the drop until it was like a week away or so, or is that not the case? omg...could be your time any day now! I keep checking for the bloody show. and my poor DH gets nervous everytime I have braxton hicks.

as for swollen ankles....yup, after working a long day my feet are swollen (and sore)

and as far as not taking a pregnancy test right after your missed period....well, I didn't realize I had missed my period cause I had just had the mirena (IUD) removed and knew it would be sporadic. My periods wree always sporadic cause I have been on some form of birth control for over 13 years. So, I took the test about 2 weeks after I should have menstrated....felt like I had pneumonia and the guy at the gas station asked me if I was sure it was contagious when I told him I was sick. That got me thinking and I got a test that day. Then proceeded to post on BYC "how common is it to have a false positive preg. test", lol. turns out it was not a false positive

WOW! You guys are getting soooo close!! I'm jealous!!

Yeah, usually baby doesnt drop until a week or two before labor, but first babies can all be different. Arent braxton hicks cool AND weird?!?!?!? Its like, you sit there, just wondering...is it the begining of labor, or just practice? Is this what labor is going to be like? Etc.... Oooh, and cervical pressure can be the pits, but at least we can breathe and eat a bit more again, huh?
Kinda sucks that (for me) its usually only the first baby that actually drops! After my first, none of my babies bothered to drop until it was time to actually 'drop' outta my body and into my arms! LOL!!

I forget what the books say at the moment, but dont expect 'bloody show' to actually be bloody. For me, its just been like a TON of thick snot (I know, I know, eeeeewwww!) that kinda came out on the potty or in the shower, and it can go on coming out for days, and then it can be a week before labor starts! It doesnt hurt or anything, its just kinda gross. I think its called the 'Mucus Plug' actually. I guess it can have some blood in it, just hasnt been that way for me. I do get some bloody show if I have the DR strip my membranes, which, by week 39 I usually am about ready to beg them to do!! Seems to bring on labor for me everytime.

About the preg test? Hmmm, it could be that your period isnt even due yet, so you need to wait a few days to get a accurate result. Or your hormones could simply be too low for the test to read at this point, and again, you need to wait a few days to re-test. I've had a negative result one day and a positive the next, so you never know! There are many things that can make your period late, including pregnancy. Its SOOOO hard to wait, isnt it?? Hope you get the result you are looking for soon!

Has anyone been to the site 'In Gender' ? It has a lot of forums for different issues during pregnancy. I have alot of trouble staying connected on that site (my internet stinks though!) but its pretty neat and people are pretty nice.
I like the forum where you can post your ultrasound pics! I had no idea there was a way to possibly tell the sex of your baby at under 14 weeks!! Crazy, but kinda cool.

Thoughts?

There are some tests that could actually tell you a few days before your period if I remember right. I found out right about when my period was due. Part of it is how early/late you ovulate during your cycle. The more days your body has to build up the hormones the earlier you could get a possitive result in relation to your expected period.

It depends on a lot of factors, not the least of which is how fast your baby begins producing hCG (the hormone they measure with home preg tests). Different babies begin producing hCG at different times and different amounts, so you could potentially take a test and have it be negative but still be pregnant. False positives may be very rare, but false negatives definitely are not! Ive heard of people who didn't get a positive test until 2 weeks after they missed their period, so it can happen (those are rare too, though). Good luck!

From what I have been told it's fairly normal to drop this early. Last week DH's nursing instructor asked if he had dropped yet, and said he could any day now. Then we check our Pregnancy ticker app on our cell phone every Saturday morning, because that is when our week rolls over, and it said that he could drop anytime. Then yesterday afternoon I noticed that moving all of our stuff over to the new house wasn't putting me out of breath, and both DH and MIL said they could tell he had dropped, I no longer have a crease between my belly and boobs, LOL.

I'm actually not trying to get pregnant, but my boyfriend is convinced that I am, in fact, pregnant. It's not going to be the end of the world if I am, but it's just not something that we were planning on happening for a few more years. I was actually waiting on this period to come so I can start getting Depo again.

Anyways, according to my little Menstrual Calendar App (which is usually right on) I was supposed to start on Wednesday, April 6th and it is now the 10th.

I took a test on the 7th because my boyfriend kept saying, "It's because you're pregnant" even if I mentioned that I stubbed my toe.

Needless to say it came back negative (and hopefully it's right), but I still haven't started. Grrr!

A woman that I work with didn't get a positive pregnancy test until she was at least 18 weeks. Apparently she had taken several during that time and all came back negative. She missed her periods for several months and just "didn't think about going to the doctor" and then finally took another test and it came back positive. Went to the doctor and found out she was in her second trimester.
