Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

my uncles name is jimmy hendrix. and when the famous Jimmy hendrix died and it was anounced over the radio my mom cried and was mad at her family for not telling her her brother died. it took her a minute to realize they wouldnt have anounced it over the radio if it was her brother

Well it was a quick appointment today, still no vaginal exam, so I don't know what is going on down there, LOL. Heard his heartbeat, and I got weighed and measured, then he said "Ok, I'll see ya next week". He put of the strep B test off until next week, and he said I swab myself, so I guess I won't have a vaginal exam until I'm already in labor, LOL.

that is disappointing...I really wanted to know how we compared! My dr did the strep test and asked me if I wanted her to check...of course I did. But now I am a little nervous and feeling a time crunch cause we were surprised to find that I am 2cm dilated. and 80% effaced, head down and ready to go!

I have too much to do yet! She said he is still on the small side and that I may "go quickly". So it looks like I shouldn't go past my due date. Looks like I have a lot to do this weekend, just sent my DH a text to remind him to tell his boss that we are close now. Why is it I suddenly feel completely unprepared?

. Can't wait to see pictures of baby shane. Oh and just a word of advice, don't look up birth pictures, it just makes you cringe, LOL. I should have stayed away from the crowning pictures!

I am so excited for you. my DD has 18 1/2 weeks to go....

Well, my second cousin's due date is tomorrow, 4/16. She is expecting a boy - Dalton. She lives right across the road, so I see her waddle out to the mailbox to get the mail everyday as I am out feeding the chickens and goats. If she looks miserable just walking to the mailbox, I can't imagine what it is going to be like to do farm chores.

I cant believe how soon some of you are going to be heading over to the new parent thread! Seems like time is flying by! Dont worry too much about 'crowning', yeah it hurts a bit if your not medicated, buts its more like a burning sensation and it only lasts one or two pushes, and believe me- you will be motivated by then to make those pushes count! Not to mention, crowning means baby is only moments away from your arms! YAY!

I had a DR appt today, it went well. I begged the nurse to do a quickie ultrasound since the portable machine was in the room anyways, and I'd really like to see if I could tell the sex, and she took pity on me and did one! How sweet was that?!?! She did tell me that she's not trained to look for the sex and so she wouldnt try to guess the sex, but since I'd had the other ultrasound a week and a half ago, I pretty much knew what to look for, LOL! The machine was kinda cruddy, but I got to see the heart (no where near as clear as the outside US I had though) but baby just refused to co-operate and made looking for the penis really hard- I kept seeing the cord, and then the nurse said she thought she saw the 3 lines that mean a girl (which naturally got my heart rate going, darn it!!), but I think she was just seeing toes or maybe fingers. Then we finally got a semi-decent shot of what really looked like a penis to me, so I am 99% sure now I am having another son. She printed the pic out for me, which made me so happy! It was like a little bonus to my day to have a picture of my little guy to take home.

What kinda bothered me is when the nurse mentioned something about me having a 'huge fibroid' in my uterus. The baby does look kinda squished in there when I look at the US, and there isnt a whole lot of fluid, like sometimes you will see a baby in what almost looks like a ball of fluid, like the uterus is holding a semi-round water balloon with a baby in the middle? Mine doesnt look like that at all. Buuuuuuttt, I told her "Um, I think that may be the placenta youre seeing" and she just said, "Oh, yeah, it could be that too". Geez... I DO NOT need to be worried about that kind of stuff right now!

I'm bummed that my last is gonna be my 5th boy (inna row, no less!), but I'm happy to just have a baby, so I've decided to just be happy and excited as possible and try to look forward to raising a herd of boys!

My anatomy US is coming up May 5th, I wish it was sooner though- I love seeing baby on TV! So fun!

I'm still thinking up names and so far I think I like the name (first and middle) Mason Justice. Hubby isnt sure about the names, but he's pretty cool about names and will probably just go with what ever I decide. Whatta guy, huh ladies?!
