Welcome!!! I had to laugh and cry with you all at once. We were also planning a cruise for our 10th anniversary in October. But January 9th we got an early surprise gift!! She is going to be our first and will be here around the 7th of September.

Congrats! I remember with our first I was just in shock as we were planning a cross country move at the time so that I could further my career in opening an amazing farm to table restaurant with another chef. He's in NC and now I'm in Beavercreek, OR. Figures that I just started planning a completely farm to table apart from mushrooms, truffles and other wild edibles we forage from the woods around our house. In fact our first dinner, which will be focused on the morels we're harvesting, is on the 4th of June. We'll just have to wait and see!

Wish I could come for dinner! Sounds delicious....

Too bad you're not closer to Oregon! I could let you know when I'm visiting folks in Louisiana

Hello everyone,
Thought I would let you know I had my baby. We officially share a birthday of May 9th. My husband kept teasing me about having her on my b-day but I never thought I actually would lol.
She is healthy, weighs 7lb. 12oz and was born after 16 hours of labor. She has a big round head so the hardest part was pushing. I also had a pretty bad hemorrhage (I lost 6 cups) so I will be on strict bed rest for many days, other than that and the pushing stage, it went very well.

Thought some of you mothers on the verge of labor would like to know that I tried the romaine lettuce as well as the eggplant and it seems like it did kick in labor. I really think it worked especially when the m/w said she believed the baby was about a week early. Anyway, on Friday I ate 10 oz of romaine and went into a kind of labor, I only call it that because it really did feel just like labor not false labor at all but, it stopped after only a few hours

But that was okay because my m/w had to deliver another baby that night. I gave it a few more days and on Sunday I ate 10 oz more plus I made a beef stew with eggplant for dinner (we ate around 6) and at 9:45 pm I was in full labor. So you girls might want to give this a try and see what comes of it. All I did was fried the eggplant gently in olive oil and salt and added it to the stew I imagine in this form it could be added to anything. Alright I'm off to sneek a nap in while baby sleeps.

Congrats, Shireshome!!

My turn, my turn!! (& rcentner's) lol

Went to the chiropractor for an adjustment this morning. He did say my pelvis was unbalanced, so hopefully the realignment will help the baby engage and improve labor (if it will ever start). I'm getting another adjustment on Thursday.

Nap time! Have a great day, girls!
