hi everyone! I'm happy to join the expectant mom's club in BYC! Not exactly sure when I'm due..i thinkin February or March, but i was wondering - are there any dangers in caring for chickens while pregnant? So far, I haven't changed a thing about what I do and don't do with my girls, but just wanted to ask. I asked my midwife and she was stumped.

Thanks and looking forward to sharing pregnant stories of chicken owners!

congrats

Welcome and congrats!!! I was told if you are cleaning coops wear a mask, and do not lift 50# bags in the first, or third trimester. Other than that no restrictions with the chickens. Just practice good sanitation as you normally would. Stay away from cat boxes though if you have indoor cats.
