Expectant parent club! Where the pregnant people hang out.

Ms.FuzzyButts :

Very upset this morning. I should be thankful, but upset nonetheless. I haven't gotten to take maternity leave at all. Granted, I am self employed and it's nice to have any work at all, but I still need and want time to myself to recover and be able to give undivided attention to my baby. Since getting out of the hospital, I have been going non-stop. If it isn't trips to the pediatrician or my doctor, it's something. I take her to work with me, but it just isn't the same. I am basically non productive when I get there because she eats so often I can't get much work done.

So what HAS to be done at work, is being dragged out taking much longer making it even more impossible to have time off. Ughhhhhhh!!!! Should I sue myself for the right to have maternity leave???? LoL

Sounds like a no-win situation!

I think you're right!
But DH just walked into the office and caught me feeding her yet again! He asked if I was going to be able to come out into the shop and help him.. I told him I didn't know. So he asked if he needed to hire 1 more person and I said yes! So if he does, that will leave me with just the office work.. And if I can keep Carly pacified for a decent stretch of time, I might be able to get caught up enough to relax...

As long as work stays as steady as it has been for the last month, we can afford the extra help. I would love to get back to where we were before the recession hit.. But one thing at a time I suppose.

Ha ha, thats me! And the GREAT news is he FINALLY decided NOT to go!!! WOOT WOOT!!! He's kinda getting all excited now that baby is so close (18 days till due date!) and he's just positive baby is coming any minute now! Im just so grateful he is feeling this way, he doesnt even want to be away from the house too long.

Its almost weird to have him around so much.

I SWEAR he is nesting....he's all about keeping the house tidy and doing his version of cleaning. Its cute.

I've certainly have had my fair share of BH. It seems like everytime I turn around another one is coming on!

Is there like a "limit" as to how much is too much, BH wise, and I should mention something to my Dr? I know it's just "practicing" so I didn't really figure it could be overdone...

Braxton Hicks- Personally, I love 'em! Havent had a baby yet where I wasnt effaced and softened out do to those (mostly) painless contractions! Usually they help dialation get started a bit too!

To me, they feel like my uterus (or the part of my belly that is sticking out) gets really hard and tight and can sometimes take my breath away, or make it hard to inhale. They start towards the middle of the belly, or even the top part and spread to my whole belly. Once in awhile they wrap around to my lower back and give me a small back ache. Sometimes towards the end of my preg, they start to cramp a tiny bit near my pubic bone, but nothing really painful. (hope that was a good description- I know what you mean about the online descriptions of them!)

I get them ALOT if I am dehydrated and every time I have more than an ounce of pee in my bladder! Bending over or walking alot will cause them in me too. Seems like pretty much anything causes them, but I notice they are less when I drink alot of water and pee often.

They arent anything you need to call your Dr. over though. Really, unless your water breaks, there isnt much he or she will do- other than tell you to lie down and drink more water. Your uterus is getting ready for real labor, thats all.

But those are just my very un-proffesional opinions!!
