3 have hatched and 2 left to go. The one that pipped externally below the air cell on the opposite side of the egg, kicked out of the shell around 4am this morning. Still had yolk to absorb so I tucked her back into bottom of egg and put her in a cup. That was 12 hours ago. She’s not made complete progress but is struggling in the cup, so I’ve laid her down in the incubator. She’s resting a lot and still has umbilical cord attached with some small vessels present. Since it’s been 12 hours, so I let it dry out or try and keep it moist? Pics aren’t the best but I’m not opening the incubator. So far 2 females and a male and I think a female and maybe another male to go if the bill sexing is still accurate. These eggs came from a breeder who’s original flock was started from Dave Holderread several years ago.
Is there much of a bulge poking out? I’d let the cord piece dry out at this point. Possibly even snip it, (at least an inch or two away from the body) depending on size and what the belly looks like.
