Various Jumbo Brown Coturnix eggs. The one on the left is a normal, in the middle a "ginormous-ouch that had to hurt" egg [IMG], on the right a "jelly bean" egg. [IMG]

That is a long one! and a tiny one! I find odd eggs facinating! I have a button who lays eggs like marbles that it's hard to tell which the pointed end and fat end are, one who lays minis, and another who lays jumbos.

My A&M's lay eggs all different sizes like that. The large one is most likely a double yolk.

We get several of these a week, and oddly enough, only a few have been double yolks. We set these in the bator, and a few have hatched...onward and upward to the holy grail of the 1lb. Coturnix Quail.

Oooo. They are beautiful but the big one looks as if it must have been painful....

    'jelly bean" egg
Is that what kind of egg I would lay if I were a quail?
