Extremely Aggressive Buff Orpington Rooster

I bought a BO rooster a couple months ago. He just turned one and he is very aggressive. I can’t go anywhere near the coop or run without being attacked multiple times. He just won’t give up no matter what. Any suggestions on what I can do or should I just get rid of him?

I attached a picture of him. Guess I shouldn’t have named him Cluck Norris :hmm
Orpington’s are supposed to be calm. I’ve got a 5 month old Black Orpington that just attacked me in the coop today for the first time. The way I try to break them of this is to catch them and hold them down face first on the ground and stroke/pet them on the neck and head in front of the other birds who of course gather round to watch. It’s a dominance thing. There can be no doubt who is in control with them. If that fails. I also love chicken and biscuits casserole.

He may still attack when you put him down but if you CAN..... keep picking him up and look him in the eye talking calmly. He still may never change but it reduces his need to kill you.

He's a handsome fella. I've had some mean Orpingtons, and some extra friendly ones.

It's hard, if not impossible to break a rooster... it's one of the things that makes them beautiful.

Most attempts to break him will just look and feel like torture.

Welcome to BYC....sorry you had to join under duress!
I wouldn't keep him. He sounds incorrigible. I kind of think changing his name won't help! Re-home him with full disclosure or put him in the crock pot....
Gosh don't kill him.... people always mention skillets and pots... so sad. I know its hard to rehome them though. Poor roosters :(
