Hi new member here still learning my way around. I was reading other forms but it seems that everybody's problem was resolved within a few days . I have a rooster that has Eye issues and over Fourth of July week I spent $300 at the vet trying to settle his eye issues and now it seems that his eye issues are back . Watery discharge keeping it closed no puss yet (knock on wood). Last time the vet had put me on eyedrops and some liquid antibotics. Since I'm not wanting to spend $300 again I was looking for any suggestions . I have been using Terramycin, today will be day 2. I'd like to do as much as possible to help him. So suggestion or sane issues and how you helped your chickens . Thanks

Did the vet test the discharge to determine the cause - what type of bacteria, etc.?
Photos will be helpful.
Is there swelling?

There can be so many causes of watery eyes - having something stuck in the sinus, dirt debris in the eye, injury, illness, ammonia toxicity, mold and dry dusty conditions can all contribute to eye issues.

General care is to flush the eye very well with saline, inspect the eye for any foreign objects/debris/injury and apply an ophthalmic ointment like Terramycin, Vetericyn eye gel or similar.

Last time the vet said eye infection . We treated w drops & antibotics.
Currently the discharge is white & im flushing it & applying Terramycin 3 times a day. I also bought some Vet RX & nutri -drench. I saw them talked about on other eye issues solutions .
Hoping I'm taking the right measures.
