Lol these are good ones. Once my hen disappeared for a while. A couple days before her eggs hatched we discovered her in a chick shipping box that was sitting in our shed with fake straw! I guess she thought it was a good place for chicks? We went on a trip that week and locked all the chickens up so she must have had to forage for herself.

Black-breasted red Phoenix hens. Does the term “black-breasted red” annoy you since you have salmon breasts?

"Mainly feather color, but if there are more than one of the same, then we start looking for different traits too. I'm easy because I have feathered legs, a crest, cheek muffs, a star comb, blue feathering and I'm a male. Plenty of options to help me stand out. Sometimes we consider someone a loud mouth or quiet.

"Well obviously the bigger you are, the louder and deeper you are."

"Big Boy, you know that's not true. I'm a Minorca that's probably a third your size and I crow deeper than you. I don't have that funny little wheeze at the end either like you do. Me and my brother both have deep, low bellows. Even the owner's mom is impressed and she absolutely despises us."
