Not that you can tell, but I cleaned the barn up some over the weekend. (Drat I just realized I missed spraying them for mites on Tuesday...ughhh) Anyway, cleaned off the dropping boards and the concrete slabs. Sprayed everything down with some cool water for them to enjoy the breeze and cool off. Everyone got fed and watered and new hay for their nest boxes.Any (hopefully good) updates?
Here's where the geese are supposed to be....
And here is where they are currently in my backyard due to the bobcat issue I'm still having...
Random pics of the kitchen flock pen and a few Orpingtons.
And here are the new bantam pens I'm working on. Each pen is 12ft x 5ft. The back 4ft will be enclosed with metal sides and a roof for them to roost and keep their nests and feed dry. The whole thing will be done in hardware cloth and metal to keep snakes and other critters out. Once these are done the big open area to the left will have 10 x 20 versions for the large fowl Orpingtons to be in. This way everyone can be safe from the bobcat. And snakes. The hardware cloth and netting is en route from Amazon, and I'll get the lumber and sheet metal next. I'm not looking forward to building the doors/gates on these though.
