Not English and hatchery stock to boot. That's probably the issue. Mine are like little underfoot marshmallows. I love them. I mean the hens are straight up pests. I have to shoo them every time I go in and out of their pen. The babies are a little sketch until they are three or four months old and then they don't run to get away. By the time they are laying they are just as annoying as their mothers. lol

Hhmm. Maybe I'll get some of yours then and try again

Seriously, I make all the right connections. I schmooze and stroke egos and hold hands at all the events with breeders. It always helps when someone knows you and decides you need something when someone they know is getting rid of them. Which is how this happened. lol

Well apparently I need to make my way to some events Or maybe talk my husband into a 3 hr road trip to your neck of the woods

For sure. Find Facebook groups for chickens in your area. If they do Poultry Trades Day events go to just look around and meet people. Just seeing how they set up is indicative of how their birds are kept at home. If you find something you can't live without get it. If not, network. Meet breeders with stuff you want.

Three hour road trip sounds good to me too. I've driven all over Texas for birds. If I ever get the guest bedroom set up in the house it could be available as a room for people that travel a long way to get birds if they want to stay the night.

As soon as I can reliably predict when I'll be hatching them (when the boys are old enough to go back with the White hens) I'll ship you some eggs or chicks.

I don't do Facebook anymore, can't stand all the politics and drama, makes me down right crazy! But your birds are gorgeous and if I had the opportunity I'd definitely add a couple. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a broody, luv the Isabell cuckoo orps that Carolina rare chicks has. My flock is all over the place, lol

I just unfollow/ignore people I get tired of seeing. I mean the chicken groups are filled to the brim with complete idiots. So a lot of them I can't look at or I just want to run head first into a wall, but it is a good place to meet people and find events. You might make a business page for your hobby farm. And then just add/follow groups. Don't make it personal and you won't have to look at as much political garbage.
