Falling Down Heights, my daily life

With those three gone, I was able to move my five Red Pyle OEGB into that enclosure. They are not sure about this! :lau But they were in a large rabbit cage before, so this is so much better! AND, it has a vertical element to it, with lots of perches! THIS they are liking!

Still have a trio of Lemon Blue OEGB in a bunny cage (plus the cockerel in a separate cage). I'm debating if I want to keep them or not. One of the hens is actually Splash. That's the reason I might sell them, I dislike that blues don't breed true. Could get Blacks, Blues, or Splashes, which they call Sports for some weird reason. Now, the Splashes/Sports are pretty, AND I would get Splashes from breeding two together, but that would mean waiting almost another year.

And I want the Mille Fleurs OEGB!!!

Second litter of bunnies hatched today! Had to wait for breeding because I replaced my does and needed the new ones to be old enough.

Took a quick count while distracting Momma with fresh dandelion leaves and it looks like about eight. Now hopefully she takes care of them! She did a fantastic job with the nest so I have high hopes.

These geese are ridiculous! :lau

They are just like toddlers. They have to 'taste' everything, including buckets and clips and clothing! And sometimes my skin. I know the origin of being 'goosed' now.

And so chatty! They love to talk. And yell at me. Very demanding critters.

My scovies are like that too as Littles (and Luna). I know that they're not related to geese, but I always joke that they're little proto-Dino gooses

Lost a half-grown chick. She'd been acting off for the last few days and this morning was dead.

Also have one of my older Cochin banties acting off. They weren't in the same coop, although next to each other. I always seem to lose a few chickens at this time of year.

Everyone else seems fine, but this comes on suddenly. Okay one day, not so the next. I don't know what causes this.

I don't want to isolate since the other chickens have probably been exposed anyhow, and my Brahma are still in the trailer. Don't want them catching anything.

Received two little Call ducks today! Super sweet, very friendly with people. One is a Gray and may be male and possibly even mixed with a wild mallard due to the shape, the other is Black Bibbed and I don't know the gender but is definitely purebred.

They're in a rabbit cage in the duck pen right now for some See Don't Touch, and one of my own female Calls went and lay next to them. :)

Photos later when they get a bit more accustomed and less bewildered.
