Famous Hatchery 'Pure Bred' Appearances

I agree. Many fairs don't have rules like the APA and ABA. Here they have a utility class where you can enter just about anything. At one of the sanctioned shows I was at, an exhibitor brought in a Red Sex-Link and entered it as a New Hampshire Red. The judges disqualified it but you can enter them at most fairs.
Many of the local fairs are geared towards 4H. It's not so much about the quality of the exhibit (animal, vegetable or mineral) as it is about the kids' experience, education and character development. And you know what, I'm okay with that!

Here is one of my Rhode Island Whites. He didn't win a champion but did get a Best of Breed though not many people breed Rhode Island Whites.

I used to have a pair of RIRs that looked pretty good, well I think they did anyways... Unfortunately the cockerel died from Marek's and the pullet was killed by a rooster 3 days after she started to lay. This is the only picture I ever took of them.

ignore all the other things in there.
I would have to say, the one in the middle is the ugliest one, likely the best producer in the picture, but would definitely have to be culled here. ;)

Agreed I haven’t seen too many show quality Cobras

All jokes aside one can see the differences between breeds by Googling said breed + hatchery quality or the breed + show quality. Besides, those Brahmas still need to be seen :D
Probably 'cause that one rooster just wiped out the foundation stock! Maybe someone will crossbreed some more ... but I sure hope not!

Thank you! I did not breed her, I raised her and 6 other pullets (and a lot of cockerels I stupidly culled too early). She's from a breeder close to me that has been working from Frank Reese birds for a few years and they've done very nicely with them. There is another pullet that's very similar to her and actually weighed more the last time I weighed them all, so I'm thinking I'm going to use both of them this fall and see what I get (my cock is from the same people, but different hatch). I'm going to be working on less cushion and, of course, better tails on the males.
Frank Reese has some very nice birds. Turkeys are his specialty.

Self Blue is Lavender.
I love both the lavender and the blue coloration, but have absolutely no experience with either, beyond my admiration. I raise Nankins - all chestnut with golden hackles and gorgeous green & black tails. If I see anything that even hints at "blue" plumage in my birds, I cringe. Blue (or just plain gray) tail feathers are a really common and hard to overcome fault in Nannies. With my total cluelessness in mind, and at the risk of asking the proverbial "dumb question," what makes lavender "not blue?"

You should also try adding some Imperial Ringlets in the mix as well. I think Jeremy Woeppel in Chambers, NE has a quad available. I was gonna buy them, but
Could I post a set for the Chantecler?
You may go ahead. I'm gonna be a little busy today so I'd appreciate it
