Famous Hatchery 'Pure Bred' Appearances

Yea, I actually saw it in another thread on here, I was freaked out, I am surprised they can walk like that but apparently they are only 1 pound bigger than a Saxony duck.
Really? That's pretty surprising considering the size of Rouens as compared to Saxonys.
It looks like he swallowed a cinder block.
:lau It sure does

That's the unique thing about Barred Holland's, they lay white eggs.
Ideal and Sandhill hatcheries both have BH. But the hatchery stock have issues like brown feathering and not quite white eggs. I have one Ideal BH that lays an egg darker than my orphingtons!
If you are interested in Barred Holland's there is a fiarly active Facebook group, and several people have eggs in the spring.
They are a rare breed, but I think they are great for backyard flocks. Usually very friendly and easy to keep.
Yes I am interested in them so thank you for the tips. :bow
The first time I heard of them was perusing the Livestock Conservancy website.
It says their status is critical, I believe.

I actually thought that if you crossed a gold based Ameracauna with a Barred Holland hen you could get sex linked EEs :D
