I've had success with preparing slideshows to convince my parents of things. (e.g. chickens) because that way they can't interrupt me, so I can give them all the information, and they can ask questions at the end. I also communicate better with them over email, because that way they have to read what you're saying, and can't interrupt or tune out.

Sooo who here has ducks of any breed or type

I have ducks. Two mallards (though not for long, one will be for Christmas dinner and the other one is being rehomed), a blue Swedish, and a pekin.

Sure! Tell me how it goes. I know that it's worked for @CHlCKEN also? Make sure your slides are well thought out, and DON"T read off the slides. Put bullet points on the slides, and elaborate on them with words, so that they don't need to just read the slides.

Me too. I’ve had lots of anoles, toads, turtles and tortoises, and snakes.
