@MysteryChicken , could you help me with duck genetics?
I’m wanting to know what offspring will look like. My female ducks will be 3 pekins, and 2 buff ducks. The only male is a Swedish blue. I have tried using the calculator, but I haven’t quite figured it out yet. Thanks!

With the pekins, you will get white, a pied looking color, splash, or something totally random. The white gene in ducks hides a lot of colors. I have no clue about the buff. It’s similar to pastel so I’d assume you’d get a wild type patterning but I’m not for sure. Don’t quote me on this, I’m not great with genetics.

How do you duck owners do it? Do you sell eggs? If so what kind? Who to, and how often? How many ducks to you have?

I’m also wondering which duck breed is the best. I’ve only kept Pekin, Welsh Harlequin, and Silver Appleyard.
