Same here. Everyone would rather go to Maine for the long weekend instead of being dragged to a poultry show. Otherwise I'd love to go with you.

If you do go take lots of pics!

My hubby sometimes goes and sometimes I leave him at home..More fun for me!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alot of good friends and company. Boy, so when I drive 8 hours to a show, I must be nuts. Iknew I was a little nuts LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, does anyone know where the archives and monies from the "old" FFOA officers are cause hmm.... They seem to not have been moved on to the new officers..... Again, things that make you go hmmmm.

I can only speak from my experience but have noticed that some bantam favs become intimidated with some LF of other breeds, so would watch and feel them to make sure they keep good weight. elliz

I have seen several that i was sure were going to be boys because of the darkened wing colors only to pleasantly find them becoming girls. eliz

Well, I sold a couple of chicks that at SIX WEEKS looked all the world like girls, and they were boys, and then there were two who turned WHITE out of my salmon pair! I found I had to wait until about four weeks to see a great deal of the black on the boys come in.

First winter snowstorm ~ 20* out ~ and the girls and I (and DH!) are soooo burrowed in.

The chickie girls have fresh water, food, birdseed, and freeze dried mealworm treats. Will be moving to my BIG chair with my little girlie dogs, cup o tea and book ~ THE DIRTY LIFE ~ by Kristin Kimball. Great reading! Oh....and nice fire going in the fireplace!

Stay warm!

I read that - it was good, although it gave me some concerns about my desire to be a farmer. Plus, she married a farmer - what will I do? I need to get me one of those, I think, before I really get started.

My favorite is Confessions of a Counterfeit Farm Girl. I was laughing out loud! Still have to read her sequel.
