Agree! I'm thinking that's all I want to hatch for folks for backyard projects; I can sex them at two weeks of age!
This pullet hatched in September, from Salmon Fav eggs. Her sisters all look like the Salmon Fav pics posted above. I have heard mention of Mahogany... is that what she is? Is it good? She's a love, and all we want is that & eggs, so she's safe. I just wondered.
interesting color mix. i don't think that is a standard color though. still interesting. how old is she Laurieks? if she is under 18 months and hasn't gone through a molt she may clean up her color some after that happens.
eek! my Chloe growled and hissed at me yesterday when i tried looking at her to see if she had some eggs! i just looked at her and she did it-never went near her or the box she was in! this is the first time i've had anyone in the coop get sooo uptight over trying to grab eggs from them or the box!

She's definitely not a mahogany. She could be a mix. However I do know someone who ordered faverolle pullets from a hatchery this year (unfortunately can't remember which one) and their coloring was just awful, even for a hatchery. Many of these girls looked similar to this one, a LOT of black. Not just a little ticking here and there.
