He's a keeper for sure!!!

what are you using for an incubator? The styrofoam ones of any make seem to be bad for humidity control, specially still air, best you can do is get it above 50 and then adjust with vents or windows

my poor LAV AMs too low then today had some humidity problems.mainly didnt know which hygrometer is right The one that should be was saying 40 when i had 3 soaking rags in there ???? The other saying 88! I would believe the 88 on that one... Sigh Have it all corrected I guess .....
Then went to turn my others eggs in other bators Here is a hole in one egg??? Oh no how did that happen?..its a chick Pipping!! Whoops...forgot about these little suckers !
Today is hatch day! I didnt even have them in lockdown at all until now !!...so who knows how many will hatch there are 6 just my mixed but i feel bad I thought i had made a mistake on my calendar..... I am so disorganized. Well hes almost out and in lock now.

Now that is a true dry hatch!!! I did the same thing last week with a rack of eggs. Thank goodness I found them right before lockdown. You need to use the sheets I sent you or make your own. I would be lost if I didn't have a system in place.

I've been tapping on mine to try and wake them up LOL!!!!

I thought about bringing one of my babies in here and seeing if that chirping would help LOL!

I actually went on you tube and made a playlist of chicks peeping. I'll set my laptop or phone on top of one of the air holes and just let it play away.

I have a home made coolerbator that I am hand turning a dozen eggs in and use am also using it for the still days before hatching since I have turkey eggs in my brinsea and opening the lid to turn eggs and add water doesn't seem to cause issues. Had two hatch out this morning and another is breaking through out of 4 eggs.

Whoopee, first hatch of the year for us. My broody BCM hen has gone from 3 eggs to three peeps in her nest box. I have never hatched under a hen before and I am just thrilled. I would like to transfer them to a brooder and give her more eggs. My question is: What is the chance she will set another week on some eggs I have in the bator if I give them to her? She did continue to get up and eat, drink, and eliminate, out of the nest every day, so she is in good body condition. I am concerned about leaving the peeps in the hen house without additional heat, but at the same time I hate to take her peeps away from her. I am in New Mexico and it is still very cold here. Any experiences/advice is appreciated. Thank you.
I have never had a broody hen but I remember reaing somewhere that once the eggs hatch she will go "unbroody" very quickly.

OMG!!! I woke up to a pretty little yellow baby!!!! And 6 PIPS!!!!! I woke up about 2:30 and checked, and everything was still the same, so she made alot of progress between 2:30 and 5:30 this morning!!! Definately not going anywhere today unless I have too!!!! Here is a pic!
