I'm about to go crazy!!!

... I got a pipper at 9 am & she still isn't zipped all the way!!! She seems lethargic. I go in about every 20 minutes to talk to her & she stirs & wiggles, but I'm getting worried about her. She's breathing. Do I need to sit on my hands? I'm going to be up all night worrying about this one! Everybody please tell my Emma to chop chop!!!

She is probably just making some last minute adjustments...LOL. This last batch I hatched I had some pip and not start zipping for almost 24 hours. They need that time to finish absorbing the yolk and also to adjust to breathing air rather than fluid.

uuugggghhhhh.... I keep running up the stairs to check & try to make her mad I haven't seen her beak in a bit, but I still see breathing... I hope your are ok. What happened when you tried to help??

Well I made the pip hole a lot bigger and discovered they had not absorbed the yolk yet. Thankfully I had read the instructions on chick assisting first and did not puncture any blood vessels, so they should be fine.

She's out!!! All by herself, 12 hours later!!! She's so tiny. I see that not everything (just a little) of the yolk sac (I guess) is still outside of her body, but no blood. Oh my!!!! Will she make it??? Will it dry up over night?? I'm scared for her. Is there anything I can do???

Really?? Will it absorb?? I'm so worried about her. She's trying to sit up, but there are still vessels attached to her rear. She's scooting around with the shell attached. I hope she's ok!!!

I had one like that, and he just had a bit of an outy belly button...LOL. Leave it in there and it might be absorbed over night or dry out. The shell will fall off when the vessels are dried up and broken.
