Thankyou . You don't have to use distilled water do you ? Because I didn't know that and I've been using normal water for the past 3 days .

No, you don't have to but I do. It makes clean up easier, especially if you have hard water (which we have VERY hard water here). The minerals that are removed from distilling will leave stains in the incubator over time. I have also found that "slime" accumulates more readily with regular tap water. The distillation process boils the water and it's actually the steam that rises and drips out of the distiller so it leaves the minerals behind as well as sterilizing anything else in the water....but yeah that's just me over explaining. Regular water won't hurt anything. lol

Solo has been back in the brooder since last night and behaving herself. The chicks are fascinated with her and she just ignores them. They think she's the best thing since sliced bread apparently. I put some fresh sawdust in their brooder and she’s been scratching around and the chicks of course want to know what she’s up to.

First pip :weein the wrong end :barnie
It was the one I've been watching the closest. Had a hard time getting it's air cell stable.

Hey at least it's pipped! That's half the battle with malpositions. Just keep in mind that when you see a malposition pip it's not uncommon for it to take twice as long for the chick to hatch because they make both the internal and external pip in one go.

Good to know. Thank you. I looked as good as possible through my vent hole, is it okay that I see a piece of shell knocked off but I don't see a hole in the membrane?

You might want to read up on assisting just in case. I had two like this last month. Both needed a partial assist.

Thank you. I read it last night for the second time and watched any video I could for this exact egg. I thought he might be a pain. Haha. I went in and created a small breathing hole and had an instant chirp so I think it may have been the right move as I haven't heard a noise before that point. :)
