100% understand that one. I like the generic budget, hubby likes the name brand budget.

I don't care about generic or brand names. I go with the one that works. For some things brand name has proven to be reliable and a better value. For other things the generic works as well if not better.

We made it through week 2! Temps are supposed to drop to 24°F tonight so fingers crossed!

3/4 way through day 18 for the first batch and the mixed Silkies have a pip! I did hear tapping/clicking when I locked them down. Incubator has been reaching 38 degrees because it’s been so hot here, so not surprised have an early Hatcher lol

Last Wednesday I found 11 more (chicken) eggs hidden in the duck nest/ coop! I hadn't thought of checking in there until I was missing a chicken during head count. 4 more were from my olive egger and 7 from my speckled sussex. Candling today 4/8 of the original olive eggers are developing, 4/4 of the younger olive eggers and 0/7 of the speckled sussex have developed. I guess the roosters didn't find her attractive .

I have a second cabinet incubator that is in the shop not being used atm. If I have to I will move it into here so I can run it a few weeks before I put eggs into it.

Of course, they were. They of course would have put themselves in there while you slept. If you had not helped them, they would have hatched days early or late just to mess with you.
