My lil Drama-King didn't make it and another didn't pip internally whilest 6 chicks hatched without any difficulty ... a 7th chick has begun zipping ... 7/9 shipped eggs not bad

Who's with me?

I know most of you on the site it will be a not so great season to do it. For me, it is Summer, and likely my last hatch till Spring, all going well.

All mine are shipped. Here's what I was shipped:

12 mille fleur Pekin Bantams (unfortunately four cracked, so 8 into the 'bator)
12 mixed colours Silkies (Was told the flock has black, white, gold, splash, blue, paint and lavender, lucky dip)
14 buff/partridge Silkies
6 Polish
6 Araucana (1 had a small hole, as per photos, trying to patch up with nail polish)

Will candle on day 7, maybe 10 if there's a few maybes in there or need to check on sealed one some more, and 17 and update with results then!

So, i know this ruins the fun, but if youd like, i could show my old hatching chicks? Its winter here and my chickens arent broody and im not willing to buy a incubator (other one we rented from a friend!) so i cant do it right now

Sorry you lost one. I have one like that right now in the incubator that was an assist and hasn’t been moving much. We’ll see how it’s doing in the morning! Congrats on the ones that have hatched and are doing well!

I usually candle day 7 and then maybes are day 10. If I am still unsure I will go to day 14

8 Araucana eggs and 7 speckled Sussex in the post. Gonna hatch some from my Silkie x for funsies. May be able to get my hands on mottled Pekin bantams but we’ll see!

I am down to 20 eggs out of 42. The roo from my blue breeding group has not produced one fertile egg. I had to replace him... but that was 12 eggs just from that breeding group. I had to take 10 eggs out from the rest of the groups. So I am down to 20 but they seem to be going strong at the moment.
Getting ready to set a second batch next week Monday. But they will be March babies.

There's another 3 in the incubator and 5 more eggs to hatch. These 3 were harassing the others who were still resting so they had to be removed from the bator.
