I'm sorry for your loss.:hugs
Thank you
So sorry you lost your little one.:hugs And I’m also sorry nobody responded on the emergencies thread. I truly sympathize with you and your loss. I have been through this many times and it is always heartbreaking.❤️
Thank you. Yes, it was a pretty rough night. I had already lost 2 chicks from this hatch and I couldn't do anything to save those as they were still in the incubator and I didn't want to open it. Now I'm down to 5 chicks from 13 eggs that went into lockdown.

The most heart breaking thing for me about this is that he searched for me using the last of his energy. It means he must've really trusted me already and I couldn't save him. I do like to think that he was waiting for me to get him in again before he passed to at least have someone there with him.

Day 10! I had one quit on me. 7 out of 8 are going strong. Anyone with duck hatching experience, do these air cells seem ok for day 10?

Who knew 5 little fluff butts could poop so much! :lau Oddly enough the pre-poop backstep shuffle with a butt wiggle is pretty stinkin' cute!

They are 6 days today and I'm pretty sure we have our head rooster. Haha. He has to stand as tall as possible, loud as can be, has to stand on everything and inspects everything first and of course this little handful is my son's pick when they hatched so he's a keeper either way.

The itch to set more already is so bad!! :love

March/April can't come fast enough. Can't say I probably won't set extra with my Dominiques because I'm already hooked!

Some update photos in their play area while I cleaned their brooder, all their markings are so pretty!

Thank you. At 2.30 this morning I put my little chick into the bottom of my shirt which I curled up (can't really explain too well sorry) to keep him warm between dipping his beak into the honey water and yolk. As soon as I put him in he struggled forward and rested his head upon my hand. Next thing I knew he was gone. I wish I hadn't left him for the 3 hours last night because he was looking to improve when I put him back out. He was chirping away and even trying to stand.

Yes, I did post a thread in the emergency thread but got no help on what to do.

I'm so sorry the little one didn't make it. :hugs I can assure you it didn't have anything to do with you leaving it for 3 hours though. Chicken chicks sleep when it's dark and don't eat or drink naturally and he also was still absorbing the yolk sac for up to 72 hours after hatching. There was likely something internal wrong and there's nothing you could have done differently. You made him feel loved and safe.
