I don't do 3 day candle. I wanted to but I decided to put it off to another day. Nice how at least some of your eggs are developing. I can't wait to candle my eggs but it feels wrong taking off the lid of the incubator. Hope all your eggs you left in the incubator hatch!

I figure my broodys would be off anywhere from 30-90 min each day. So me doing a quick candle is fine. I am bad. I start candling on day 3 and check all. Then I try to go every other day but don't always make it so sometimes 2 days in a row I will candle a few eggs. Then around day 7 and day 14 I check all again.... And of course before lockdown

I have not held anything of mine since I last saw my new rooster was not fertilizing. I did candle, today and was more hopeful. One hen that harassed the rooster, was being harassed by the rooster this morning.
If I set eggs even one day after the shipped eggs they may hatch the same day, because each day an egg waits to be set you have to give that egg 6-12 hrs longer to hatch. And if I get eggs tomorrow and have to wait to set them, 24 hrs, then hopefully my rooster will do his work and I can set my hens eggs.

I honestly wish I had the patience to wait. I really TRY hard and tell myself I am going to wait from day 3 till day 7 to candle. then I just go crazy. haahaa. Doesn't help I will text a friend (also a chicken person that loves to candle) and tell her I am going crazy and want to candle and she just encourages me to candle. LOL

Officially called it quits and pulled the shipped eggs, not a single one started.
My own eggs are doing great. I put another 6 eggs from the girls that already have developing eggs plus a few eggs each from some other hens. candled three Muscovy before I was called away, two developing one clear. Will do a proper candle another day

LOL you can blame me. It is soooooooo hard to NOT candle. I don't know how people do it. When are you going to candle them all? how exciting you saw something!!!!!!!

that stinks about the shipped eggs. Where did you get them from? I had such bad luck with my first couple of shipped eggs (think it was the sellers not the shipping!). The first 12 I got I had 2 develop and hatch..... main issue was they weren't the color OR the breed they should have been!!! Found another seller and got more eggs..... None developed at all. I had messaged her to let her know but heard nothing.... Found a 3rd seller so figured my last try. got 12 eggs.. I got 10 babies out of those 12 eggs. at the time I was waiting for those eggs the 2nd seller contacted me and said they normally have great results and offered half off if I wanted more.... Stupidly I got more.... started those with my other sellers eggs. I had ONE start to develop and quit that time. I finally just gave up on that seller. Got more eggs from the 3rd seller, think she sent 24 the 2nd time. I had 18 hatch from that. So from the 3rd seller I got 28/34 for a hatch rate!!!!!

I will be ordering more eggs from this seller mid Feb and I can't wait!!!!! Trying a few other breeds this time.

I'm so sorry that happened with your shipped eggs. My shipped eggs arrive today. Trying to keep my hopes low. I'll be happy if I can get one chick to hatch from those eggs.
