February 2023 hatch-a-long

I ordered eggs for January send/set date, with a February hatch date. This is a way off, but I thought I would put this tread up for people planning to hatch eggs in Feb. I decided to hatch because it was hard to get all these chicks I wanted shipped at the same time. Some were not available and some were pricier as a chick. I know eggs will be 1/2 roosters. I am okay with that. And I enjoy hatching. I have hatched many eggs in the past local and shipped. (Incubators foam, 2, Little Giant, with turner, for the first 18 days, dry hatch -but natrually 50%, works best for me, moving to a farm innovators for the hatching, still air, I will bring the humidity up to 60% or so.)

I plan on posting photos and my steps,

BCM-Dark brown eggs
Frizzle EE-green/blue eggs
blue orpington-tan eggs
olive egger-dark green eggs
lavender orpington split to black.-tan eggs
Blue andelusian-white eggs

I am interested in other people who may be hatching shipped eggs during a similar time, or their own, or if you want to join the watch.

I would love to follow along. I plan on incubating in March/April.

Shipped eggs just arrived! I was impressed with the packing. I received two USPS boxes today and one was completely smashed, lol. So thankful it was not this egg box. No noticeable cracks in eggs, but will candle when I set them tonight. Planning to let them rest 12 hours. Maybe 24 is better. She added two extra. So we have 6 55 Flowery, 2 cream legbar, 2 FBCM and 2 Spitzhauben.

Update: Jiggly air cells but not detached.

Day 4 (I guess?) results:
ALL EGGS FERTILE. 3/3 blue eggs fertile, 1/1 white eggs fertile, 1/1 cream colored eggs fertile, 23/23 brown eggs fertile. yay!

My eggs came also I am resting 24 hrs, since I do have some loose air cells, but I will leave the turner off for 3 days, as suggested by a different hatchery. I will candle again after the 3 days to see if I can turn the turner on. I once had to wait 7 days to turn an egg. It still hatched.
