UPDATE: DAY 23...22 eggs in lockdown....7 bantam crosses hatched, 12 'OE's hatched, 1 'OE' pipped, 1 bantam crosses pipped, 1 'OE' pipped and 1 'OE's taking their sweet time.....
Total so far 19 out of 22...that is 86% and more to come...

Yikes!!

I added a bit of warm water this morning to increase the humidity slowly since lockdown is at 11am. Went back to check 15 minutes later and the temp was 103.9 with 83% humidity!!!!!!!

With 29 eggs in the turner, there was no way to just suck out some water without upsetting the cart. So I removed the eggs into cartons, suctioned out some water, and hastily put the eggs into their cutdown hatching cartons (thank goodness they were prepared!!). !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was hoping to have more time to adjust their positions and what not so there was maximum room for them, but I was too worried about them to take the time. I didn't even get a chance to candle again!!!!

Man!!!!!!


If 18 days of worry and care come to naught over this, I am just gonna be sick!! I'm most worried about the 13 Serama eggs.

My hatch is over. Out of 18 eggs that were not supposed to be fertle, 3 hatched. 2 naked necks and one mystery chick. They were all shrinkwrapped, so I had to help them out. It was a very messy hatch.

Out of 29 eggs, 1 never developed and 8 never hatched. I got 20 chicks. I think I did pretty good.

FINAL UPDATE: DAY 23...22 eggs in lockdown....7 bantam crosses hatched, 13 'OE's hatched, 1 bantam crosses pipped helped him out and he didn't amke it, and 1 'OE's was a quiter.....
Total so far 20 out of 22...that is 91%
this month I have hatched 43 out of 50....
So I am at 86%
I have 39 in lockdown today and another 20 in lockdown on the 25th
most if not all are sold...I am hoping to keep a few...

UPDATE: The eggs are in lockdown!!

We've had a much better run this time and Im happy to say that we have 20/24 eggs going into lockdown 19/24 of them looking PERFECT!!! 2 were clear, and 2 appeared to have quit around day 10 Im so excited for Thursday!

Oh and the temp is 99.9 and humidity is currently climbing to 60%, if anybody thinks Im too high or low on the humidity please let me know!! Thanks!
