Feed sack recycling ideas??

If you are talking about the sort of woven plastic feed bags, there are patterns around for making tote bags out of them. Especially cool if the bag is brand name, like Layena or something with a pretty picture on it. I think some people make them to sell at craft fairs and farmers' markets.
That's what we do, make tote bags.i can whip one out in 20 minutes, handles and all. Last year our family members got chicken feed totes at Christmas, wirh homemade pickles and stuff inside them. A big hit!

These puzzle me. The bags my feed come in have kind of a shiny, smooth, almost waxy surface on the outside. They are tough and crinkly. I can't imagine using them for a tote bag or any absorbent purpose like poop boards! Containers for rocks, leaves, grass clippings, yes, I can see that. What am i missing? :idunno
The totes are perfect for reuseable grocery bags.

Now I love the idea of filling the totes with homemade stuff and giving as gifts. My family already loves the cartons of beautiful eggs I give them. The totes will just be an added plus. They are the best totes you can have. Thanks for the gift recommendation.

Well first you missed the line about using the woven bags for tote bags. Kind of like the flour sack clothing from the depression era.

I use most of my feed bags to catch the dog and chicken poo I pick up out of the yard and send to the trash can. Kinda like what comes in must go out. :sick

I also have hung some on the wire wall between my hen and rooster coop to give a visual block from the nest box.

Have used them under bedding in nest boxes as well. :thumbsup
