fenbendazole dosage?

Thanks for your reply!

I definitely want to get roundworms, since I know they were in my flock, but I figure as long as I'm at it I'd use the stronger dosage and longer dosing time to try to fight as broad a spectrum as possible. I haven't seen any worms in their poop, but the necropsy did identify roundworms (only roundworms) in one hen a few weeks ago.
In the UK Safeguard can be used without egg withdrawal when it's given at a very low dose (1 mg/kg) for 6-7 days I think. In Canada Wazine is used with zero egg withdrawal. How many hens do you want to treat?

Edited to add: The 1 mg/kg dose treats only large roundworms and cecal worms and should not be given if you have capillary worms.

Are you wanting to treat just one bird?..It is best to treat the entire flock..all at once.
Thanks, KikisGirls, yes, I was wanting to do just the pale combed EE for now. I was planning to do the whole flock later in the fall once more are molting and the egg production drops, so we won't have to discard so many eggs, but I didn't want to wait until then to treat this one girl.

So, just planning to treat this one hen to start, then do the rest of the flock in the fall. I think ascarid is the most likely, and I have no reason to think that she does have capillary worms, but I guess without testing I can't be sure that she doesn't.... :/

I have treated my Gretel for external parasites but she is still not doing well… Feather loss, lethargic, losing weight. She is still eating and drinking. she must have worms, although I haven't seen any in her poop. I have fenbendazole safeguard for goats and have looked for dosages on this site but have seen several different recommendations. Can someone please tell me how much to dose her? and I understand you do not have to wait before you can eat the eggs? She actually is not laying but I assume I have to dose my other 3 girls as well as I have no way to separate them except for during the day...? and how does one know that they get enough medicine? I am going out of town Tuesday so I need to start tomorrow. I would appreciate any tips and how to's. Thank you so much!
