FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

Okay I've made one tiny batch of this feed I started it on Friday so it should be ready tomorrow? I'm skeptical but that's just because this is so different from the norm but if it saves food and is better from them im game. Still not quite sold on the smell but I'm not the one eating it, I'm guessing you get more used to it the longer you make it.

My husband calls ff "the blob" :D
No overflows for me, but the stuff is consistently rising through the opening of my crock. The longer I backslop, the more growth I get. Use a vessel thats bigger than yoi think you need or put a plate under it to catch messes.

I've been sprinkling on some chia seeds if the feed is a little thin and mixing in...thickens beautifully without adding more feed.

Mine does that too but it is in a Quart jar :( I have to figure out exactly how much it expands so I can do it right each time.

My pullets are pigs. They look at me like I am going to let them eat all day long and I am to fill it up when it gets empty.

Mine come running when I open the back door that's for sure. And the attitude I get when I don't have treats is hilarious.
Quart jars started taking up too much space on my kitchen counter so I switched to something larger. I make 4 lbs of food at a time and feed it over two days for 6 chickens.

How many chickens you got?
