Finally caught the killer racoon

My area is filled with lots of predators - bobcat, coyote, many raccoons, opossums, skunks, but I've only lost my chix to airborne killers. I do lock them up tight at night and my German Shepherd patrols the yard during the day.

I love the idea of feeding coon meat to the flock. Sweet revenge!
 
. When they killed this pullet on my shoulder it just took my heArt out. I hatched her in February and she loved setting on my shoulder. I miss her so so much

Healthy looking pullet and looks very content ....

But you did learn some good hatching practices or you would not have had such a turn out but as I learned years ago time to get the incubator going and it will be easer in the summer as it is warmer and easer to hatch I found out personally but the brooder can do in most cases with out a heat source just a small light bulb to keep the brooder well light ..........
