Ruth,
Congrats on your new "Shadow". I belong to the KY branch of the Internet MinPin rescue group. I have 6, all of them rescues that I was originally gonna foster but wound up adopting. My first four were from a lady that was losing her home and had to move into low income housing and couldn't take them with her. They are mother and father, son and daughter. Mom and Son are tall and lanky, father and daughter are short and stocky(Imagine miniaturized versions of full sized Dobies and Rotties).
I have a picture of the 4 of them climbing on me the first day they were here. They are all Black and Tans, Mom and Dad were 6 and pups were 5 years old when I got them.
Then came Sebastian, my chocolate boy. He was a return to IMPS due to the adopting family getting a divorce and he was having behavior problems. Only took me 1 day to figure out what it was. (The husband was a real jerk) and since then he has turned out to be a really good boy with no behavior problems.
Next was Sasha, she is a red and was scheduled to be euthanised if no one claimed her because of her health and age (10+ years old). She had been picked up as a stray. She had a bad skin infection, had not been neutered and unsure if she had even had shots. So after having her vetted, spayed, and giving her treatments she is the fiercesst defender of the property.
And yes they all like to dive under the covers with daddy at night, I have to struggle to get my space on the bed.
They are great vermin hunters, and nothing comes near the property without them letting me know. And all six follow me around the house and yard.
If I spend too much time on the computer

they let me know that as well. I did have to teach them to leave the house birds alone though! I also had to teach them not to stick their nose into the pigeon coops when I was feeding and watering them. Can't wait to see their reactions when I finally get the Chicken Coop and run done and get some chickens,
And yes they also want to crawl in my lap when I am sitting down.
And yes yours is a full blooded MinPin, not all breeders dock tails and ears when pups are born. My six all had their tails docked, but their ears were left natural except for Sasha, she had both done. (But not by me)
