finally....first egg...!

we have 4 glw...4 slw...4 s.sussex...2..r.i.r.1 o.e.g. our first egg....on me and my wifes anniversary....wooo hooo.....bout dang time...i look each day...jus to see if we have an egg....gotten tired of finding nothing....BUT today was the day....tiny cream colored egg...im guessing its from our game hen......she is our oldest at 7 mos....all the others were born in sept..the sure look mature...when will they lay.......

Wooot! Wooot! Congratulations!

I just got my first egg yesterday, same as you, looking all the time and wondering when! Also a small, creamy-colored egg. It was from my bantam, mottled black cochin. Oprah's her name. I didn't see her lay it, but by the time I saw it and picked it up, it was still warm.

Ate it for breakfast this a.m. atop some of my home-made bread. That's good eatin'.

Congats! Still waiting from my gold wyndotte and silver wyndotte. Both born July 6th. Talk to them every day that it's TIME already. Lucky for them their pretty.
