Please, oh, please let them be able to put that fire out.

i know the feeling...2 years ago around this time my husband and i watched to the east of our farm as fire rage out of control, scarest night of my life...it would now bew a night mare to move every thing off the farm if there was

I share your concern.I just went thru a fire in Santa Cruz County in cali....Scared the daylights out of the whole family..Fire will be 100% contained Saturday...My prayers go out to you and your neighbors......

We've had two big fires in the past year. It seems that the people who stay with their houses and hose down the roofs are the ones whose houses don't burn, but there's definitely a risk to that.

I can't remember if you're supposed to open or close windows before you go - I think open as they can explode from the heat. Also, if you have time, remove anything flammable, like firewood, from up close to your house.

I hope you get your chickens out.

Be safe.

Equibling! I've left you a PM...you can find my phone number contained there in. If you need us, call us. I'm not sure we can handle your entire flock, but we have lots of neighbors with coops and flocks as well.

Even though we're 2+ hours away from you, if push comes to shove, we can probably work something out to accommodate everyone in your flock. Just call us and let us know what you might need.

I'll be saying the most fervent prayers that the fire crews get it put out long before it reaches you. I'm very familiar with your area and have always thought what a nightmare a wild fire would be in all of that steep terrain. Good luck and keep us posted please!
