The picture you posted just looks to me like a newborn chick. I can't imagine how exhausting it must be to fight your way out of the shell.

Poor "raisin" died overnight. She had a protruding thing from her side. It must have been mushy chick syndrome. She was up and chirping and ate a little last night. I thought maybe she was going to make it. We had her under a heat light and she did drink some water from a dropper. This morning she had a big "bubble" thing on her side/rear. Thanks for all your help! Our other two are happily making mother hen crazy in their yard.
