All that being said, I'm not discounting that 4'x4' may be too small, but that's why I'm asking now I didn't know hens would use the same box.

This was my idea for the floor plan bc the nesting boxes would be elevated, I was going to put a little raised shelf under the nesting boxes to keep the floor bedding out of the food and water. Since the nesting boxes would be solid bottoms it would also keep them from pooping in the food and water dishes, then I was going to put roosting bars on the walls above the run exits.
