I have noticed one of my 15 almost 16 week old RIR's comb has doubled its size in the last few days. It is also getting really red. I am hoping eggs are soon. I just hope the coop gets finished in time! Its almost ready!

Haha! Thank you! Her name is Penny. She is much bigger now. She was only 7 lbs in that pic and now she is 50lbs!

My RIR's and BR's are 15 weeks and my GSL's are 14 weeks. And my roos have been trying to mount them all for the past week and a half. I found one of my GSL's snuggled in one of the nest boxes two evenings ago. So now, I guess we're just waiting (anxiously

) for our first egg! Congrats to all who've gotten their first eggs already!

I got my first egg yesterday, and another one today! I was so excited. I found it in the nest box, but left it for my four y.o. daughter to "discover." She almost wet her pants with excitement. We got another one today! I have nine pullets, a variety of ages and breeds, and I am dying to know which girl is laying. I am thinking of setting up a web cam!
