I moved my fake eggs, plastic golf balls, out of the nest that Red uses and into the box next to her favorite. Every day she moves them back in so she can sit on them while she lays. Chickens are so funny and cute

Hi everyone! I've just spent the last 2 days reading all the posts on this thread, and thought I might join in! I just love it! I'm addicted!

I have 2 mini flocks going on right now! Last spring we got our first 3 chicks ever! Tiana~PR, Bella~PR, and Fiona~RIR. They all lay great! This spring we got 2 more chicks! Kerdi~GLW(18 1/2 weeks), and Penny~WhiteRock (18 1/2 weeks also!)

Sooo, we're waiting now on the 2 new chickies! I hope it's soon.

They are pretty red in face, conb and wattles, they've gotten really chatty too. They are like my little babies though! They actually come when they are called by name, they will sit and roost on me, and let me pet them! Only the little two though. One of my older PR's, Tiana is the same way. She's my "little momma!" I could see her being broody!

I forgot how exciting waiting for those first eggs can be! I lost track of how old my little ones were, then the other day I figured it out, and was like "holy cow"! So now Im anxious!

I'll try to post pics of my girls..not sure I know how exactly....

I can finally add to this thread!! My Cuckoo Marans, Phoebe, laid an egg today. She is 24.2 weeks old today. It was 1.25 oz. She did not sing the egg song. Guess she isn't boastful like some of her sisters.
