First Egg Of The Season - - Anyone Else Get One?

My excitement was shutdown this afternoon while looking for eggs. I found my white hen had a watery eye and was keeping it closed. Found some yellowish gunk in there and decided to start her on 1/2 cc of Tylan. Ugh. She was just getting tame, and I had to catch her.

I have to catch mine once in a while, i was suprised to learn that they forgave me and still came to me when i called and still took treats from me.

I watched 2 hens lay eggs today. They were just walking around and did a quick squat and there was and egg LOL

My 6 year old son spotted 2 more today. We're up to 4 now.

I put about 14 eggs in the 'bator on Monday from our IB, white and spaulding.

Ive got three from Goldilocks but she aint layed no more in the last two days.

I got my very first pea egg yesterday. I have a 2 yo and 3yo IB males in with a 6 yo spalding hen, 6 yo black shoulder hen and an IB hen of unknown age. She was an adult when I caught her in 2011. I'm not sure which one laid it. The 3 yo male was being very aggressive with the black shoulder hen a few days ago and pulled out a lot of her crest feathers. This will be my first year with breeding peafowl so I'm still trying to learn breeding behavior vs. just plain being mean.
