First Egg Of The Season - - Anyone Else Get One?

My Taupe male is w/e,,,,so chicks coming from my bssp hens will have 2 copies of white and can have pied. Yoda, yes I got a 3 year old Taupe hen and a 2 year old Taupe w/e male
If the taupe male got 2 copies of w/e gene, when crossed with BS silver pied hen, all the chicks will have two copies of w/e gene. If the male got only one copy of w/e gene, 50 % of the chicks will have two copies and the other 50% will have only one copy of w/e gene. Also, 50% of the chicks split to white and 50 % will be split to pied. No pied birds. and all look India blue. The second generation breeding with these chicks will produce very exciting combinations of Taupe birds. Novel programe.

Thanks Yoda! I have those options of hatching eggs to get next weekend so I was just wondering. I totally love bronze, but I would like to see more pictures of peach and charcoal.

So that is true... I was reading about Charcoal and remember something about them not having the shine. Could you please post pictures of you Charcoal in a new thread?

Sorry for steering this thread off topic. Back on topic: I have 11 peafowl eggs under a turkey broody. I collected seven more eggs over the past few days and my Blackshoulder Spalding peahen is finally laying. One IB hen did not lay today and I think she is broody. If so I will move here and let her hatch out some peachicks and let her raise them. I think that would be cool.

They are still going to be beautiful regardless! Could you quickly rate the following colors from your favorite to least favorite: Bronze, Cameo, Peach, Charcoal, and Midnight BS?
Here is my rating - Midnight BS, Bronze, Peach, Charcoal, Cameo. I have or have seen all except the Charcoal in person. Having hens that don't lay and the short life span puts me off the Charcoal.

Blue Creek,I can get pics of my Bronze male named UPS,he is FANTASTIC eye candy and has a great demeanor when it comes to me being close to him inside the pen at feeding and watering time. i too have a Charcoal dark pied w/e male that is 3 years old this spring. His father was on the UPA magazine last month who has since passed away. I can try and get some pics of him too since you like charcoal. He is in with 3 IB/BS hens split to Charcoal and a IB pied hen split to Charcoal. My Bronze pen has 2 100% Bronze hens and 1 IB split to Bronze hen together.I now have Peach but the male and hens are just 1 year old so not photo worthy.
