First ever hatch!

I know and they're so addictive! I remember starting out with like three hens and then I had to have more lol my poor father. My mom and I used to tell him we ordered only about half of what the actual total was. Chicks are just so cute! Do you have a fan in your bator or no? I'm interested to see if that really has an affect on the hatch rate. Mine was originally a still air

Here's the bator before the temp and everything stabilized

And here are my little resting eggs

So you added the fan later ,,, Mine is a forced air and I find a big difference and a still air is set at 101 0r 102 and the forced is 99.5 as the air is evenly moved around ever so lightly .......

Yes, I just wired a CPU fan to a cell phone charger. Is there a difference in the hatch rate?

I'm at 100 degrees and 45% humidity right at this moment. Just went in to look. Yaaay! Bator is ready for tonight. This was the kids a few minutes ago.

I did notice a large hatch rate after my still air G.Q.F. incubator was broken and then I got a G.Q.F. forced air incubator with the egg turner and bam big difference and I have been using it for close to 20 years now as I got this one in 1997 and keep it out of reach of others .... But I believe the egg turner made a difference as I touch the egg's less also and less opening the incubator so less drafts on the egg's ...

I am a little worried about opening the bator to turn the eggs. Maybe Santa will being me a turner for Christmas!
