you are having a good first hatch!! I just started mine today, I love hatching eggs and seeing all the little peeps

Congrats Congrats. You are doing great. I have had more chicks hatch on days 22 & 23 than 21. So those others may still come thru. Either way your doing well. As far as losing some, while it is saddening, it is part of hatching, whether under a broody, in an incubator or in the brooder. It just happens. And look they all dried out! Me luv some fuzz....I really need to order my new incubator. Or get off BYC...one or the other. Anxiously awaiting more pics and news.

thank you I was so nervous!! I appreciate it! It is fun and very sweet - so excited to see what is going to come out next. I got the eggs from a guy who gave me the bator so I wasn't sure what was going to come out of the eggs!! I have ready to go in once these guys are done Serama bantams. I cannot wait for those!

Thank you!! yes it was sad. I tried to stimulate it for a while but - not all the yolk was absorbed I hear that can be an issue? BTW yolk absorbsion is an amazing process!! Interesting. So I positioned the two babies like they were cuddled up, wrapped in a towel and hubby burried them

If you have the stomach for it I highly recommend you do an eggtopsy on remaining eggs after everything is done hatching. I learn something everytime I do. You may find they weren't fertile or that they quit early on or were full grown. This can help you determine what happened along the way.

Final total was 12 survivors. One egg did have a crack an i saw the chick in there. The others didnt even look like they got to the air sack from what I could see with the flashlight. I will take pics tonight they are so darn cute!!!! I think the humidity fiasco did them in. It was all downhill after that sadly. So i got a himidity gage not sure its the right kind but..

Thank you all for your support!!!
