First Hatch of 08!!!!

Very good looking dogs the little one has her eyes shut looking all pampered....cinny looks very soft....they get along I guess?
Our little one Coco forgets his place sometimes and Quinn reminds him how much bigger she is...she sets a big paw on him and holds him there till he settles lol
I would never trust coco around the chickens either but Quinn I'll see how she does, she doesn't pay much attention to them really but she may with the little ones.

Hi Babbs!! your up busy with hatching too I see...thanks for the white egg confirmation! eh lol
I tried hatching eggs not too long ago without a bator etc oh and experience wasn't there either so yea they all died. My bad..thought I was doing a good thing bringing them in.

So silkies are pretty hardy..that's good gets really cold here
sure wondering what I'll get for roos vs hens and once you tell me which is which I'll leg band them lol

I am still trying to catch up on reading your threads. i got caught up reading the one about starving horses and it breaks my heart. The chick I already had hatch is a leghorn. Not sure if it is bred with a barred rock or a supposed leghorn. I'm pretty sure Rocky who is suppose to be my leghorn roo is a speckled sussex. It is a cute little yellow chick, that's all I know for now.

Silkie I live in Quesnel, British Columbia. It is in Northern B.C. and it has been a horrible winter. It is finally starting to warm up and melt the 5 feet of snow we have in the yard. My boss is from Arizona and managed to bring her chickens here. I would love to sneak a few of her exotic breed eggs under one of my hens. I have another hen wanting to sit but I took her eggs away today and brought them inside because she isn't quite committed yet. She keeps getting off.

she is spoiled, lol. they both are mommies girls. the little one is alpha of the house and my best guard dog. cinny is only about a year and a half old she is a big baby who thinks she is a lap dog, rotfl. i love to play with cinny's ears they are like velvet. i tell her oh ichy ichy ears so i can rub her ears all the time, lol. trapper looks like vannah but he is bigger than her and a little chicken he follows her everywhere it's cute.

vannah tried getting a showgirl the other day thnkfully it was smart enough to hide behind the brooder legs. it got out when we went to town. i didn't know it and she cornered it so it is bald on the back left side but she didn't hurt it. naked necks are hardier but my silkies don't due to bad in the cold as long as they are older, it's the young ones that had the prob this year.

i didn't realize we wrote so much holy cow, lol. where did u see that about horses? oh sussex are very pretty i have a friend who rases them i love going to visit her to see them.

wow that's neat i didn't know u lived so far away. we still have snow here to yet but this week is suppost to warm up. we have about 4" of snow now since it snowed yesterday. what kind of exatics does she have? what all do u raise?

I know! theres what 46 posts! we should have gone to chat lol
Well I better get some fast sleep it's 4 am here this is when I usually roll over LOL
good night ladies and would be nice to see some pics tomorrow...I'll be checking first thing!
Try and get some rest ok? yea I know never mind...

I have barred rock, leghorn, and a dark brown almost black breed of sussex. They were suppose to be chocolate brown. I only have 5 of them and they are very strange. 3 are very small not much bigger than a banty and 2 are as big if not bigger than most of my barred rock hens. I have 7 leghorn hens and one supposed leghorn roo. And 10 barred rock hens and 1 big barred rock roo. 22 hens and 2 roos total. 1 turkey, she is probably getting too old to keep for meat now but i didn't have the heart to put her down, she just kept on laying eggs for me. She had another hen with her that we put down not too long ago and she wasn't too tender either. I also have 3 pigs, 1 horse, 1 sihzu-poodle cross puppy, and 1 cat.
